An unexpected visitor

It was Christmas and I was busy preparing a simple Christmas dinner. Siew came back around 6-ish and as I walked towards the front door, I noticed him stroking something on the pillar beside the gate. It was a kitten!...or a 'teen-cat', as I would put it.

I can comes inz?

It followed Siew in and mewed continuously, probably in hunger. Since most of the things I was cooking was still in raw-form, there wasn't anything much that little kitteh there could eat. It refuse to eat biscuit, but quickly lapped up the chunks of chicken that I was frying for the spaghetti.

Little kitteh stayed for dinner even though there wasn't much that was suitable for it to eat...and she stayed on until later when we played DnD. For a moment we thought the cat had left the house cuz we didn't hear mewing anymore but a quick glance under the table and we found her like this:

...what the heck?!...

Little kitteh continued visiting us everyday, even tried to get into the house from under the back wooden door (we locked every other possible entry point in the house). We didn't wanna keep it in the house over the night for fear it might nibble my PC wires or QJ's cards or worse, leave its litter all over the place! We tried putting her into boxes but...

...peekaboo! She just won't stay in.

So we played with it whenever we had time on our hands..

Well, she wasn't exactly a bundle of joy...

She's awfully cheeky and 'manja', always trying to climb onto my lap when I'm on the PC (...sound like Fifi actually) and then clamber onto my shoulder...

But sometimes when she falls asleep on the carpet (she loves it there) or on top of my Lansing's bass (...here too)....

...she's just too adorable to resist. At least there's some peace and quiet in the house..haha!

Little kitty cat loves to play...among the things:

a ball of paper...

QJ's d20 dices (particularly the red ones)...

...and this toy made out of rafia strings tied onto one of those small flag poles (ones u get during Merdeka...heh)...just swing it in front of her face and she goes crazy.

C'mere you!

Shhh...I'm hiding...

BOO!!

Ooo yea...dance baby dance...

We're currently feeding this lil baby tuna, and I just bought a small pack of Whiskers...but we really don't know what to do with it during the hols. She'll have to fend for herself until we get back, I guess...hope she'll be allright.

If only she'll sit quietly and sleep during the night (and not prowl around jumping on chairs and tables), we might just keep it. Haha! Who would have thought....Afterall, she's still very well behaved, litter-box wise...the house is still....umm...'un-soiled.'

When you're feasting for free...

(I freakin started this post on 1st December...finally had time to fix the photos and finish the post...x.x)

Its great when you look at the menu, the juicy and scrumptious food in the pictures there, and when you look at the price tag that comes along with it, and you think to yourself that it doesn't matter. Price, for once, did not matter.

Wow. Everything seem so cheap all of a sudden. lolz!

Great things like that don't come often but I was pretty lucky to get a chance to dine free at Fridays.

Thanks Nuffnang and Fridays!

Quj and I tried to squeeze in a day-trip to KL into our schedule. Since it was Sem2, everything was pretty packed for most of us. I was taking 3 subjects so it simply means: hell. And he has his Magic tourneys to attend this weekend or the next. It was just... @.@ Used to be so convenient to want to go KL to have a casual fun trip.

Anyways...back to last Friday. Day started with me waking up around 10, realising I had miss my 8am class (...x.x) and quickly get dressed to go to the dentist. Dex was taking me there cuz my tooth suddenly decided to go on strike. Had light breakfast/lunch then jumped on the 1pm bus to KL. Was worried bout roadblocks because of Hindraf that weekend but thankfully, there was no roadblock at Sungai Besi. Instead, there was one earlier at Ayer Keroh tol. ...wtf?

As we were nearing Pudu, there was this awfully long jam which doesn't seem to be moving at all. Getting annoyed and restless, I asked if Quj wanted to just get on Hang Tuah monorail to get to Medan Tuanku station, to collect my TGIF voucher from Nuffnang. He agreed and we quickly got off the bus and headed for the station. God knows how much longer we'd be stuck there if we didn't.

Nuffnang's office at Heritage House was a lil tricky to find. As we arrive at the building lobby, we run thru the office directories and....didn't find the name 'Nuffnang'. Thankfully, I wrote down the address given, and decided to give Esther from Nuffnang a call. ....the call did not connect. I dialed a few more times to no avail. Got a bit panicky and QJ suggested that I just go ahead upstairs to their office. The security officer only allowed one of us to go up so I went while Quj waited there.

As I got to the front door of the office, I tried to look for any indication that I am where I'm supposed to be. Nope. Nothing of much help. I decided to just ring the doorbell on the alarm/doorbell panel and wait. And wait...and...waited. No response. I pressed the doorbell again and still there was no response. "Maybe its not working?"...I thought to myself and decided to knock on the door instead. The sound of the knocking drowned against the thick, stiff wooden door. I heard shuffling from behind the door but there was no one who came to the door. I tried knocking again, this time harder. This time, someone came and opened the door, and as I peered in, 6 or 7 people were looking at me. They look like they were in a meeting. Eekk! Felt really bad for disturbing them like that.

I apologized to Esther as she handed me the voucher and she said it was allright. She was different from what I had imagine her to be but she was very sweet. Had a short chat with her and she said she knew someone from MMU Mlk. Small world? Hee~ I thanked her and quickly left the room, not wanting to disturb them much longer. Phaiseh...hehe.

So, on with the rest of the itinery of the day. To Pudu to get tickets back. Side-trip to Quj's favourite manga shop. Trip to Puchong to get his stock of Lorwyn boosters. Short visit to Sg Wang to get my Olympus 1GB XD-Card changed. (1-to-1 warranty yay! Thankfully still under warranty X3 )...and FINALLY to Pavillion.

First pic after getting the new card... :D

One of my fear was that if TGIF in Pavillion is not yet opened. I had no one to confirm whether or not its open, so all I had was to rely on Google and blogs that mentioned about TGIF there. The moment we got to Level 6, we felt...lost. The Korean restaurant there looked....EXPENSIVE! I'm sure it is. The staff warmly greeted us but really, my pockets were shivering.

As we left the concourse area, things warm up a lil at the familiar sight of Baskin Robins, Times bookstore, and the things you DO usually see in other regular shopping malls. Phew.

After walking a lil further, we spotted TGIF! W00t! And....they were.....singing? o.O .....they are...wow! Its just so cheerful!

TGIF! Thank God it was open already..hee!

We were very warmly greeted and quickly ushered to our table in the non-smoking area. The waitress handed us our menu, promoted their current 3-course Meal offer, and left us to decide on our order.

QJ decided to try the 3-course Meal. I was very tempted too but decided to go for the other more expensive stuff that I'm more unlike to order if I'm paying out of my own pocket...end up picking sumthing from their Jack Daniel's range. The smoothies were awfully tempting but sadly I was still coughing :(

While waiting for our food, we kept ourselves occupied chatting, taking pics, and particularly enjoyed reading the 'fun' paper (i...dunno wat else to call it) on the table.

*snigger*

ROFL!

Nice warm relaxing ambiance.

One look at the color and you know its TGIF...hee...

Hot chocolate...yum!

While I was busy snapping photos of this and that...one of the waiters walked up to us and asked if he could help me take a picture of the both of us. So nice of him!

Me likey! But meh...me freakin under-dressed. Didn't really left much nice clothes at QJ's ^^;

Food came! Picture speaks louder than words. So if you're hungry while reading this post...steer away now! You HAVE been warned...hehe...

Mac 'N' Cheese Bites. Super yummy! Who would have thought u can fry these stuff!

...makes me wanna go eat it again...

Jack Daniel's Chicken and Shrimp...the mashed potato was especially nice!

Mouth-watering. Taste good just like dat...but taste even better with the sauce dip :D

QJ's Cajun Fried Chicken Salad and the sauce

Mocha Mud Pie!! Soooooooooooooooo sedap! Better than Baskin Robin's ice cream cake x.x...
Regret didn't bring QJ here for his birthday...

What happens after the meal...was a bit of a disaster. I kinda lost track of time (or rather, lost track of the distance between Pavillion and Pudu...and made us miss the last bus back. Err...lol?

THANKFULLY...my sister was around....otherwise I'd have to go Quj's....errr...malunya... x.x ...I'd not want my first trip there to be under such circumstances.....

"Ello sis....err...U in PJ aa?"

"Ya...why?"

"...kinda need a place to crash for the night"

"...."

"We missed the bus."

"....like dat oso can wan u. Come la come la..."

So both of us (QJ followed me back too, for convenience sake) went to stay at my sister's for the night. It felt so much more relaxing after running for our lives trying to get to Pudu in time to catch the bus. And my sister's house is just sooooo damned cozy. Makes me not wanna come back here...having her to chat and gossip is another nice thing bout going there. We sisters have so much to talk about when we're together, resulting in 'sleepless nights' when both me and my 2nd sister go there to stay. Its either Grey's Anatomy, some random movie, looking thru my sister's stash of digital photos, tonnes of stories and gossips, recipe book...etc etc..

But that's already another story...for another day.

So yeah...TGIF, overall...
Ambiance: good
Service: great
Food: awesome

Having all of them free: priceless

Damn...I wanna go there again....

Christmas 2007 in Penang/KL

I've been wanting to know how the shopping malls in KL decorate their premises this coming holiday season. My favourite has always been Mid Valley's 2005 deco (YES I have this obsession with their deco that year....so?)....so every year I'll ask my sis "Eh...MV's deco nice or not aa?" when the season comes around...

My 2nd sis made my day. She sent me this email with pictures of most of the major shopping malls in KL (and Penang) with their deco for this year's Christmas. They're lovely! (tho I still prefer MV05...keke!)

Pictures are NOT taken by me. I simply enhanced some of them. Source unknown.

Enjoy!

Just when I thought I could breathe

No its not about the flu. Its getting better and I can (physically) breath with no problem already, thank you.

I'm talking bout 'school-stuff'. U know....uni student 'things-u-need-to-face-everyday'...and since its sem 2, it goes 'things-u-need-to-face-even-more-frequent-everyday' cuz everything's short and every bloody lecturer tries to cram everything into 2 months. Fantastic.

One of the core subject I'm taking this sem wants us to make a compiler. The lecturer for the first part of the subject was very casual, relaxed and flexible. I like it that way but his class schedules annoy me a bit sometimes. But hey, no complains for my freeing up mah schedule.

When we asked him about assignment, he kinda assured us, "Ahh...my assignment usually only due week 7-8." At that point, he has yet to upload the assignment. Citing MMLS has problems uploading annoucement/stuffs, he asked us to grab it from our counterparts. Sure, no prob with me.

The moment we went clicking on their assignment page, we all went white. The assignment consists of 2 parts. Part 1 is due in a week time. WTF!!!~ And the thing is, we have NO IDEA how to do it. (the damn thing even requires us to run in Linux, FFS! Albeit, more secure for sure)....

Just when I thought I have time to breath when I'm done with all my midterms and crucial lab reports (2 more labs to go tho...simple ones methinks).

I miss those days when assignments are all based on 'tutorial-ish' approach. U do question. U dunno. U ask/*coughcoughcopy*...nowadays assignments are mostly, if not all, research based. That mean you're utterly screwed if you don't have stable net. W00t! One of my assignment wants us to design a PN-Junction, and the other wants me to find out about....Control Unit and Multi Core processor...mmm...managable. Work in group of 4 when I don't even know a single soul (save one but 'bless him', NO!) in my tutorial group. HA HA!...not funny. Screw it all. All that mini-researching, I can do myself...I think.

....mmm...wow. I'm actually very certain of what I have to do with my assignments. LOL~! Good change I suppose. Hope it sticks :P It better.

On a totally different note, Amran, Quj and myself went Jusco and I saw the usual "Back to School" items on sale on their (very small) concourse area. Now, I don't go to Jusco that often but I DO specifically remember that they were selling Christamssy stuff just about 2 weeks ago, when we ate at Nandos with Mike and How. I was 'autopiloted' there by default but Quj spotted me in time to drag me back, and covered my visor-...I mean eyes. He swiftly dragged me away.

....damn. I WANT MY CHRISTMAS TREE T.T

Back to my point. I poked Quj and asked, "Eh...Christmas first or school starting first aa??"....cuz IIRC, back in my days (I sound old...), it was definitely Christmas, THEN whip yer asses back to schools. Quj replied that that's still the way it is now. So....why when kids just kicked their holiday-ing gears to move, are they gonna get stressed up about going back to school so soon?!!~! Yes I'm TOTALLY against that cuz as a kid, I absolutely HATED these sales. Of course they remind me of going back to school! Heck, I remember the times when my bloody holiday just started and I go shopping with my family. Guess what I saw? BACK TO SCHOOL (my ass....)....SERIOUSLY give us a break..shesh!

Some of you may defend yourself saying "Ooo...I love those times...can get new stuff" etcetcetc...U see, mum hardly gets us anything new. Anything that can re-use, use it. That goes for shoes (oh the times I crave for that trendy black one), stationery, bag...mm but uniform memang stick same one la cuz I was prefect then. Can't buy those off the shelf. I never had my own new full set of color pencils. So it was pretty ironic when I got a whole set of 24(or more..?) Steadler (water) color pencils that I crave so much as a kid, when I was already about to graduate from schooling life. Schooling life, as in that primary-secondary school type la....like they say: we humans never cease to stop learning...sigh. I gave the set to my eldest sister who has this fantabulous talent at art. She drew a frog using those color pencils. It looked very...real. Wait la got chance I ask her to take out the pic and I take photo of it...

A lengthy post. Mmm...for once (after such a long while) I think I've written sumthing 'solid' here. Hah.

p/s: Posted around 6am, and for once its not cause I haven't slept. I actually slept at 9 and woke up at 4am. Healthy? haha!

Not being home...

Not being home most of the time has its....side effects. I can't tell for sure if its actually a good or bad thing but....

....you tend to forget how bloody awful and sucky your own internet line is. The moment anyone torrents (or mass torrents sumthing), net surfing is pretty much out of the question. Even direct downloads from fast servers are a pain. 0.75kbps for sumthing you usually get at 127.5kbps...!!? ....preposterous.

Sigh. Damn you TM.

What I need now...

What I terribly need now, is some nice decent sleep.

Weekend, dentist, xtra class, study. Thankfully Friday and Saturday was spent mostly sleeping my cough and flu off. Well, most of it but its still with me.
Monday noon, paper.
Tuesday night, paper.
Wednesday, lab report to passup. Not to mention class till 6 (which I plan to skip if I haven't finished my report.)

I'm still coughing and sneezing. Hadn't had proper sleep for the past few days. Sigh. Hope it'll be gone by this weekend. Damn sien dee. I terribly miss having ice cream. Or at least the feeling of being able to have one whenever I want. Weather ain't helping. Blazing hot in the noon (like 'ouch!' pain while walking to class) and chilling wind at night. Just makes ppl fall sick all over again. Bleh.

On a side note, tried playing UT3 on QJ's PC. It was awesome. Wonder when only can play on my PC. The GFX merajuk on me when I try to play. Blek. Shall hijack QJ's PC more often, hee. (Yeah, he's still playing UT3 at this ungodly hour. And yes, yours truly is also still awake. O.o )

I wanna go shopping. I miss going shopping. Just go, lepak, try on countless clothes and beli the ones u like. Felt like its been ages since I last do something like that.....ok this one counts as a 'want'..not need. :P

Need: to sit in class and not tertido in those important ones (and be able to sleep thru that rubbish 2 hour class...pftttt!)

Need: to not spend so much on food+movies. Want: to eat good food+watch movies. Sigh.

Need: ...err....want: to cook sumthing this week or so.

Want: to do something this Christmas.

Want: to get ppl Christmas presents (but at this rate, I doubt I can afford it anymore like last year....pokai la..)

Want:...err...better GFX? Mobo, Processor, RAM...um....throw in a DVD-Burner as well kthxbye... :P

Need: a miracle to wake up at 10 later. Haha!

Laters. Hope to get some pix up by the weekend.

November 25, 2007

What happens when..

What happens when your boyfriend doesn't seem to have a single piece of Christmas song on his PC (at least I can't find any) and you're itching to sprinkle a lil Christmas spirit into the air?

You go to imeem.com and start digging for some playlist with some decent Christmas songs....schweet~! Convenient too...don't have to download....

....I'm still undecided whether or not to buy a small tree or not....hee! Quj sure pengsan :P Butbut...the decoratives and lights and christmassythingymagic is so....unbearably...georgeous and...too lovely! (my favourite section in the supermarket as the season comes...)...I remember as a child when we only get to go KL during school holidays. Every big shopping mall has got its own decoration. Subang Parade's got these moving dolls...Metrojaya with its classy deco...and w hen I grew older, when I could finally trot around KL on my own...the LOVELY DECORATED MALLS! My all time favourite has got to be Mid Valley Megamall's 2005 Decorations! Its got the LOTR-Rivendell in winter feel...Last year's was a little disappointing tho but I have yet to see this year's work yet. Hope its good! :D

Why am I all feeling so Christmassy all of a sudden? Cuz...the malls in KL have started to show their spur of Christmas season-ness. Shops in Pavillion have gotten white trees propped up nicely decorated. Berjaya Times Square decorated their concourse area with dangling lights (and dunno what else...didn't see properly :P )...Ikea's started their yearly Christmas special. Guardian started their 'megasale'...Bodyshop's promoting their Seasonal Edition of Plum and Cranberry range. More and more places are starting to advertise their 'Seasonal promotions'.

I love this time of the year. Definately would have been better if I didn't have exams to worry about. Sheesh.

KL trip yesterday was lovely. And a bit of an (mis)adventure on some parts...my bad...haha.

TGIF meal was simply lovely...wouldn't do justice to it if I were to simply slap a blog entry on it without proper photos and time to write it down. Will write about it sometime next week. Paper this monday. Blek. Study study...

Laters peeps!

Infatuation with Catz!

I have infatuation of random 'tepi jalan' kitty cats these days...hee~

Saw one cute 'teen' kitty at Infasha the other day. It was happily playing with a ball of paper, pawing it between legs of tables around...going around and leap and sorta 'trips' itself and falls down, with paper-ball in between paws. It was so cute, was actually tempted to kit-nap it.

Anyways.....

While I was...

While I was curled up comfortably on the bed, while I was nicely having lunch and watching anime and dramas, while my friends were busy having fun, going out, hangout and stuff, thousands others were braving the rain, massive traffic jam and road blocks, threats by the police force and FRU, tear gas and chemical laced water cannon.

They just wanted to hand in a memorandum.

A peaceful gathering so that their voice may be heard and NOT ignored by those that mattered. The sea of yellow. Yellow warriors.

A peaceful gathering that was claimed by the government to be illegal because the police refuse to issue a permit for the said gathering. For those involved, it is claimed that this act goes against their right to have a peaceful demonstration, and instead it should be allowed WITH supervision of the police force.

They wanted a change.

Having not read Malaysia Today for the past week, I had no idea about the peaceful rally whatsoever. If it had not been for my friend, I'd still be oblivious of the things that had happened yesterday while I was 'chillin' at home.

The event made it to front page of Al Jazeera English. It was reported extensively by CNN, Reuters, International Herald Tribune, and Asia Sentinal.

And yet, I tune into thestar.com.my to find a very...short, summarized, and...one-sided report on the whole incident. No pictures, of course...

[edit] RTM's news report included footages of riots and demonstration that...totally unrelated. There were people injured and civilian acting very hostile in those footages but the thing is, none of them are related, NOR in Malaysia. What were they trying to depict, RTM I mean?

In some countries, if something happen in your capital city that triggers major roads to be closed and multiple roadblocks stationed at highway tol exits and causing massive jam practically throughout the city and having the task force to use tear gas and water canons to disperse peaceful march, it would have gone headline! No questions asked whatsoever.

But of course, full coverage was available at Malaysia-Today. I didn't have to depend on local news network that has been pretty much filtered by the gov.

Vid links, cuz I don't like posting youtube in my blog so it'll just be links...

Mmmm...that's very not like me to post something like this. It's not that I never care, I do. Its just, usually difficult for me to express myself in this 'area'. Ah well /shrug.

With that..I shall call it a night, err...day. 'nites'. /yawns

This and that...

Quj went for Magic again....so which means I get to spend my free time by myself.

So...what have I been doing?

Been napping on QJ's bed (gosh so much more comfier than my own bed... x.x ) after he left around noon...got up around 3-ish, made myself fried rice (smells great with the fried shallots that Quj's granny gave X3 hee, thanks!) and finished yesterday's 'air mata kucing' (cat's eye's water?...eww..lol!) while watching some anime on Quj's PC...ones I've missed during hols (and too damn lazy to catch up downloading <.< )...

After that, read some mags flipped thru Quj's card album...blog-surfing...chatted and gossiped with a good friend of mine (giggles)...and went 'jogging'.

Not exactly...jogging. Cycled to the base of Bukit Bukit Beruang and jog-walked up there...met Alex there and later bumped into Wilz on the way down (didn't expect to meet anyone I knew...lol!)...wanted to try going up again but it was getting a little late and I was scared it'd be too dark by the time I get down...plus, I was still paranoid about the snake incident last night so being up in the little hill while it was getting dark isn't exactly gonna help with that freak-out-ness.

The snake incident. A bunch of ppl came over to play WoW TCG last nite. Alex was bored so came over and had a go at The Spoils and the Wii. Been...quite a while that we had such a crowd in our house...felt nice being so lively. The crowd died down as it was getting quite early, and to make things worse, it rained. Quj and I felt hungry and Mike tempted us to join him for supper at Subaidah, since it was raining and he could drive. I casually walked to his car and laughing about something I can't really remember anymore. He started his car, did a 3-point at the end of the road....and then suddenly pointed out to the road right in front of the house..."Eh ehh...snake!" I quickly looked outside the window to where he pointed and true enough...there was a small coil of...something on the road. It was quite dark so I couldn't really see its head but the stripes on its body was enough for me to know what I was looking at. Yellow and black - it can't be good. I freaked! Shivered at the thought that just minutes ago, I was PROBABLY walking so near the damn thing and I wasn't even looking at the ground!

After supper, I looked around the path to the gate, and the main door, and practically ran inside.
Today, I have yet to open the door/window of this house. Except to go out (after scanning the surrounding for 'unwanted visitors'). Paranoid. Sigh.

Came back from 'bukiting', had a shower and hung laundry, chatted with Quj awhile (x3 ...poor baby got stuck in jam for 3 hours roadblock cuz gov is paranoid over some ppl having some 'gathering'...well...memorandum, huge peaceful gathering for a cause for the nation...water cannon...tear gas...that sorta stuff...x.x.. (and I thought it was a peaceful weekend...should read news more often...from reliable channels of course)

Dinner was wholemeal bread, toasted with margerine and topped with strawberry jam...which taste awfully good, surprisingly. Used to hate wholemeal bread but that 'combo' actually made it smell very nice! Toast and egg for bfast, I say! Dinner accompanied by Grey's Anatomy S4E7. Niceness. Sis would kill me if I don't send her some eps soon.

Mm...would need to go home later and dump some unwanted stuff and rearrange the 'store' area at home. Is awfully messy. And..my room...hee... /sheepish..

Bukit was fun...tiring to death at one point (my stamina is gone I tell you...GONE... x.x ) but really fun. Again later today...if my feets allow me...hee...

Wish you luck for the tourney later today, Dearie! Ganbatte and qualify desu desu! X3

p/s: Being alone at 'home' means: you get to blast songs eventho its 4am in the morn. Blast, of course, not to 'disco' point la!

Antz

I killed so many of them today, thinking it'll leave us peaceful for a day or two. I sprayed 'Ridsect' into their nest. Tonnes of them scurry out, and fall off the wall - dead. And I thought it would have been taken care of for awhile! (It did the last time I sprayed their nest)

But no....

They just can't 'duduk diam'.

THEY HAD TO BLOODY CRAWL ALL OVER THE INSIDE OF OUR HOUSE...TO PINDAH TO THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE.

God knows where they moving to but wtf, can't they just crawl thru the outside of the house? It was already evening then, not hot la, ish.

So, group after group of them march by, hoping not to be exterminated by us before they reach their destination.. x.x

And they really have some strategy. They decided to go thru the path that's near our plates and cutlery. Meaning, we won't spray Ridsect on them if they're there. When the heck have they got THAT figured out?...sheesh. Anyways, Amran poured hot water over them...haha!

Its already 4am now. They're still.... 'moving'.

...sigh. The 'war' goes on.

p/s: I bet they were having a huge party inside the refrigerator during hols. We came back, switch on the refrigerator, and they all suddenly appear from inside the fridge, pretty much frozen and stiff. Heh.

Thanks 'ShoppingNSales' too!

LOL! Checked technorati to see my blog linkbacks, and found it on shoppingnsales.com site. Pretty curious as my blog has no reason to appear there... *click*

Hee....twas a nice bloggy day for me :D

Thanks Nuffnang!

About two weeks ago, I decided to stop procrastinating (for once, haha!) and write my entry for Nuffnang's TGIF Contest, "Why I want to eat at Friday's". Already had in mind roughly what I wanted to write but still, it seemed pretty weak. I scribbled a few lines and decided to just write a post casually.

Did a google search out of curiosity and found tonnes of entry for the same contest. Pretty much thought that I won't stand a chance to win a free dinner for two ade, but still very very 'gian' to win that yummilicious free meal :9

So...I anxiously wait the result for the contest....

Couldn't sleep just now (eventho it's so 'early' already.. x.x ) so got up and check my mail. Saw a comment on my Friday's entry from someone I don't know. Decided to drop by Nuffnang's site to check if they have annouced the result...

...and there it was. Right there at the very end of the list. The little me inside was leaping with joy, jumping up and down excitedly. Wow. It just felt so...syok and...SYOK! HAHA...dunno what else to feel...happie sial.

Don't know the details of the dinner yet, haven't gotten email from them yet. Later this week or two I guess. Hope the date's flexible. Don't wanna miss out on another nuffnang treat like the Pirates one last time.

Thanks again, nuffnang!

No one...

No one, absolutely no one who lives less than 2-3 hours away from home, can ever EVER understand the feelings of a person who lives 7-8 hours away from home...the feeling that you can't easily go back when you want to during weekends, can only go home twice (or 3 times max) per sem...and that when you forget something, it means you'll be seeing it only after 2-3 months (unless dad is generous with PosLaju)....

After 3 years+ here, I still can't adapt to the 'leaving home' feeling. Say what you want, I just can't. The comfort I'm leaving behind (actual space to walk around home, wonderful beds and warm shower! omg TV! getting food w/o having to travel...or cook..going Tesco whenever I want, my car...gawd), and just having people called 'family' around..even if you don't talk to as much as you do to friends, they give you a feeling of warmth and comfort. A dog who will greet you every morning (or noon) when you wake up, who tries to climb onto you (she's that small) whenever she gets the chance to. An aunt who cooks wonderful dishes and shares cooking secrets, as well as girly and everyday life gossips...whom I can poke and joke and slap her behind when she's not noticing (and curse when I hit her keys in the pocket instead)....Mum and Dad whom, I'd want to spend as much time as possible with these days...and siblings who are so annoying sometimes but...well...its still very nice being around them.

That all being said, I wonder how you ppl from East Malaysia (or worse, overseas) take it? Ppl I know like Kai...who didn't even go back for CNY last year...geh...U have my respects.

Sigh. 2 months. I'll be back...hopefully (if miracles happen) for Christmas.

p/s: Everytime I travel on a bus, I get lonely, and I look upon the stars. Do you know how pretty the skies can be when you're travelling at night along the North-South Highway? If you do have a chance to travel after sundown, take a moment and look up the skies (when there's no streetlamps around, of course)...its just so pretty. I saw Orion's Belt, hee.
