Chinese New Year is barely a week away!

This year's CNY preparation's rather calm for me. For one, the annual family gathering isn't at our house (thank heavens) so we didn't have to fuss too much about the (usual) awful mess here and there. Not that its not gonna get cleared anyway but its a lil less tensed.
About 2 weeks back, aunt made kueh bangkek (white powdery sweet fragrant kookie). Of course, this project can barely be done alone (...tho I think she did it before...aunt hebat!) so we helped with the 'pattern printing' after she was done with the dough.
The awfully fun thing was when we were talking bout old days, grandmother story (as in...stories of the time when my grandma was still around...really grandmother story :P )...dirty jokes. Lotsa laughter, lotsa side aches. Lotsa fun. That's gotta be one of the perks of doing cookies with the family.
The other perk of course, is that you get to eat 'fresh from the oven' cookies. ;9

So this weekend it'll be the last weekend before CNY. There'll definitely be mad rush to the morning market tmr...not to mention Tesco and etc. Last minute-ers. Done my clothes shopping long long time ago. Mr Wong would not be having any new clothes if it wasn't for me and aunt. Hmph! (Hope you love it ;P )
