One Utama's Christmas decoration concept this year features a little town with frozen 'ice-skating-like' river/lake. Pretty cool, considering how you can mingle with the decoration itself.
One thing we observed from the Christmas decoration in most malls these days is that they tend to incorporate the shops and stalls as part of their deco. The little 'town buildings' houses shops such as Lovely Lace, L'Occitane (I think), Cold Storage and a few more (which I can no longer remember cuz I didn't go in there :P ). For one, visitors can be a part of the decoration and actually look quite ..um..natural and secondly, you get to charge your vendors to deco the place. Gotta love the idea.
It gives a nice feeling of a little town...with the gradient floor (which is actually a bit hazardous, especially if someone's wearing heels. Thank god I was wearing boots), benches, street lamps and the bits of snow (that actually felt wet, according to QJ), what would be lovelier if there was a coffee and tea-time shop with 'al-fresco' dining.
One complain was that, since there was only a little space to move about and it being school holiday weekend, it was rather hard to get from one end to another considering the lane's pretty..small. What with the amount of people who wants their photograph to be taken and the cameraman taking forever to focus and snap the shot. Geez.
Ugly centrepiece banner is ugly. Spoil the view aje.
Close up look from one of the buildings.
Lamp post, seems to be the theme these year around most of the malls :P
