A touch of nature in the midst of the awesome food and drinks

Day 2 in Langkawi was full of water activities. And thank the heavens the weather was BEAUTIFUL (it was raining left right and centre just before the trip)

Shindee had wanted to go Temurun waterfalls. So our Navigator, QJ, and the lead convoy captain, Shah, led the way. (Yes Dear...I'd join TARA with you anytime :P )

Off for some bucketloads of fun!

Been there a few times...can't say there's that much things to do there that's tourisy...but there's cheap good booze. Reason enuff. Not to mentionthe cheap chocolate, good food, and good company in a relaxing environment.

Hello Langkawi! :P

The weekend before Christmas

Awesome timing of public holidays. For 3 weeks in a row, most ppl will only be working 4-day week. For the peeps in Selangor, its a whole month of 4-day week. So so awesome.

For a long weekend, as well as the weekend before Christmas, I must say that I'm surprised that not all malls are flocked with human beings. Ikea however, is flooded with human beings. It was crazy! Underground parking at Ikea was full by the time we got there around noon. Inside was worse. Geh.

KLCC and Mid Valley was surprisingly rather loose. Either that, or we have good timing going to malls ;P

Me, sis and aunt shopped like there's no tomorrow. Bought presents till there's no more ppl to give :P ...ended up buying presents for other people, on other people's behalf. Our plan was to balik SP and 'lelong' ask who wanna give who the presents we bought. XD

Decorations were rather meld down this year..they look significantly cheaper, but some still manage to pull off nice simple decorations. Ikano's deco were crappy. Curve's one was nice. Mid valley was rather good too. KLCC decided they have had enough of big huge gigantic trees, and go with gingerbread house and some mid-height trees. I swear, this year's theme is either gingerbread house, or cages. They seem to be everywhere! Not that its not nice but such coincidence? Hehe. Pics, when I get back to Penang.

Had lotsa fun. Bought lotsa stuff. Had lotsa laughs. Good times.

Won't be buying anything much for the next 3 months. LOL

A day in the city

It's been awhile since QJ and I had the time (nor money) to go gallavanting carelessly in KL....since he was slightly 'up' in the finance department lately, we decided to go jalan jalan in KL for a one day trip.

Thanks to my 'bleh' FYP, as well as some random assignment tasks tossed at me last minute (not to mention 'assignment' by my bro to do some major alterations to some pics of his youngest girl =,= ) .....ended up not sleeping the night before. By the time I was done with all my work, it was already 6am. Ended up doing some random stuff till 7am, woke QJ up...and went dimsum with Yeap at 8. We were kinda behind schedule...but managed to get on a 10am bus...reaching KL around 12-ish...so it wasn't too late. Went Times Square...the boys burnt RM14 playing Razing Storm...this new arcade shooting game (prolly not so new la but heh...its been ages since we went there)..."Shoot like crazy...smash and destroy" was the tagline they wrote under the name on the machine's label...and well...they live up to it. I mean...heck...you just need to keep your fingers on the trigger...swing your gun around....and heck...you'll turn the place to dust! There was one scenario where the enemy AI was on the upper floor....the boys just shoot the flooring and the bullets managed to hack off a huge chunk of cement! Swt....wat kinda bullets they use la... :P ...what's cool was that the environment was very interactable. If you see a car/barrel...shoot it cuz it'll explode and practicaly wipe out enemies in that area. What's funny tho, is that in certain scenes...enemies come at you with their guns raised in the air...i/o pointing at you...they look like some dancing/protesting mobs instead of some guerillas... kekeke....some parts of the game enables the guys to use rocket launches to kill the bosses....but in between the scenes where the guys are chasing the boss/running away from the boss...they get to use the rocket launchers on human enemies too...which is...well....kind of an overkill ^^; ...fun tho...even just watching them.

Went ronda ronda a few anime/figurine shops, Borders, then had lunch at Papa John's Pizza. One of the things QJ and I dread bout going to Times Square is the lack of food choice the place has. Same goes to Sungei Wang and Low Yat...if we want some good food, it'll have to be in Pavillion...heh...there too much choice pulak :P . So the night before, I did a search on Google for some suggestions of what to have in BTS....and found Papa John's. Was kinda worried since I've read mixed reviews on that place...but decided to give it a try anyway...since it was the only way to find out if it was good....

Turns out pretty good :D ...its not ZOMG AWESOME pizza (QJ and Yeap could not stop raving about the pork pizza they had while they were in Thailand...Yii even swore off all other pizzas in Malaysia after he had that....but oh come on...how can you beat pork on pizza ?? >.< )

....the ambiance in the place gives a warm comfortable glow...altho I have to say their table's a tad bit too small...we had to struggle to fit all the food we had on our table...not to say we ordered a lot oso ...we decided to go for their Merdeka specials...since it was the cheapest one with decent portion of pizza...RM49.90, comes with 2 9" pizza, one of them is their merdeka special pizza...some local flavour...grilled chicken with sambal sauce....YES sambal sauce!...I had to admit I was a bit intimidated to try that flavour at first..but it actually turned out nice. The sambal smell wasn't very overpowering and the pizza was actually tasty...but it could definately do without the red chillis...pedas x.x ...the other one we had was Chicken Super Papa's...which I liked.

Other side dishes that came with the set was a plate of very delicious pasta bolognese...

...and a snack platter that had 2 chicken wings, some potato wedges..and a few pieces of very sorry looking onion rings.

..in its defence...one of us had already 'attacked' the onion rings but still!!!

Seriously...I mean...come on! It looked so pathethic! Supermarket frozen ones can do better than that. And look what they had on the advertisement!

Look at how fat it is in there!

Feels cheated. But only that tho....everything else was good.

Oh...it also came with 4 glasses of ice lemon tea.

So yeah...RM49.90...about RM54 after tax...for a meal that's suited for 4 people (we were stuffed x.x )...its pretty cheap. Definately beats Pizza Hut and maybe on par with Dominos...maybe. I haven't had enough of Dominos to remember :P

We finished off our lunches, and headed to Sungei Wang and Low Yat to check out their 'otaku-stash' offerings. To our surprise...many shops have either closed down...or became rather 'lame'. The level of otaku-ness in these areas have certainly dropped substantially since our last visit here ^^; ...well not that it really bothers me cuz watever anime-related stuff I'd want nowadays...I can find them off the net ;P ...went to get a new switch (cuz ours got fried) from Low Yat before heading to KLCC.

Needless to say, it was worlds apart, Sungei Wang/Low Yat/BTS and KLCC...

We went straight to Kino's Japanese section...or at least where it used to be :P ...its been so long since QJ and I paid a visit there that...they are no longer inside Isetan...instead, they've moved into Kino's main branch upstairs. Yeap had a field day there...he spent a fortune there while the both of us were browsing thru some stuff (wheeee finally read Saiyuki Gaiden Vol 4...eventho its in Jap and guh so hard to read...but my gawd these are so hard to find! >.< )...since Yeap was busy with his shopping spree, QJ and I decided to go for a cup of overpriced but very very fragrant coffee at Kino's coffee club. Aih the price we pay for drinks these days...

After he was done, we head down for dinner. Well since we had lunch quite late that day...we weren't really that hungry yet but its so rare for me and QJ to go KLCC...and I've been wanting to drag him to Santini since last year when I went there with sis and Ken. Got there, ordered my meal...and went off with my tripod (berat babi but gah...I wanted to take a night shot of KLCC twin tower) and camera to shoot these:

Yeah almost same shot..just slightly different angle but heck...dun care. So much trouble to shoot these pictures so I'm gonna spam a bit! :P Carrying the damned tripod all the way there..was definately worth it. Of course I could just use some makeshift tripod out of...stuff I can get there but didn't wanna chance it since I hardly get time to just linger off KLCC and snap this shot..the timing was just too nice (altho I had to rush a bit and would have preferred to just took my time and take a few more angles and what not)...while taking these pics...some...foreigner guy came to me and kacau..."Your pics are nice" la (ei my camera was so bloody close the the floor how the hell did you see my photos when the display was angled towards the floor?) ..."are you local" la..."you look nice" la....=.=#...eh bugger..fuck off la. =,= ...I hate it when these foreigners come to my country and behave like this...

Went back to join the guys...the drinks have arrived....damn bloody expensive but so goddamned bloody nice. The best overpriced drinks I've ever had! LOL!

Green Temple mocktail - Green apple, sprite, vanilla ice cream...
...I shall attempt this one day...

Iced mocha or sumthing
...so damned chocolaty and rich..QJ got full just by drinking this alone :P

Food arrived after awhile...Yeap ordered Grilled Chicken breast ...and got the most impressive plated dish we've ever seen with our own eyes (after watching so many of those in Hell's Kitchen..haha!)....it was sooo so nicely plated...he was almost reluctant to eat it. I stole the brinjals (cuz Yeap wasn't a fan of veges :P )...and gawd..they were good.

I decided to share a Carbonara with QJ...since he wasn't hungry yet. It was delicious, but QJ would have liked it better if the pasta was not so tangy...

Overall, I felt the price of the meals were okay for the standards (Yeap's was about RM20sumthing...mine was RM19)...but the drinks were a killer..and so was the tax. 4 drinks (Yeap had 2..hahaha), and 2 dishes came to almost RM100...compared to lunch...this is definitely "Ouch!" ...but I think I'd wanna come back here again...maybe go cheapskate and order cheaper drinks or sumthing... ;P ...QJ would say "You masak jer la" ...hahaha...ah one day I'll learn to cook as skillful as these l.... tee hee....

Finished our meal and we headed back to Pudu to catch a bus back Melaka. It was a brand new bus...and what's more...it was also the first time that I've sat in a NGV-powered vehicle...not just any vehicle...a NGV-powered bus! Waaaaa....they power busses too?!!...and as if the thought of riding a NGV-powered bus isn't scary enough for me...the driver had to go refill the gas. Gehhh.....but at least we got to see how much the bus takes (full tank for the bus was about 130 litres..I think) ...was so tired and burnt out...I just fainted on the bus :P ....thank god Yeap drove us to Sentral so his car was just parked there whole day so we could head back straight the moment we got to Sentral. Pasar Ramadhan area was soooo lively this time (didn't remember it being like dat last year)...it looks as if they've converted the whole area to become a pasar malam...but we were just too tired to go check it out.

As if we haven't splurged enough the day before...we decided to go catch "Up" today....and then have Pak Putra for dinner....well at least I managed to get some grocery shopping in so...we'll be camping in for the next couple of days :P ...hee!

p/s: Selamat Hari Merdeka btw...altho this year...it hardly feels like anything at all...such shame ^^;

Makes me smile...

Went to bed last nite somehow sensing that it would rain in the morning....

Woke up in the morning...to an unexpectedly heavy storm. Rain yes...but so heavy? Ah well not that it matters to me. Rain+sleep=nice.

Got up to open the door for Loo Mun. She came over to settle some stuff so needed a place to freshen up and hang around until her ride comes later at noon. Catch up a bit on stuff before she left with her friends...then QJ and I walked to have vegetarian lunch (since he had to be vegetarian today...or at least to the best that he can :P)

Came back and slept the evening off since it was still so nice and cold (that and the fact that I played Shin Megami Tensei on my DS till 5am earlier)...woke up to see that it was all hazy outside the house. Worst I've seen of Melaka yet....and the wtf part is that...it just rained buckets in the morning! Geh....the smokey smell is just so bleh.

Freshen up and waited for Yeap to go dinner+movie. Wanted to go MBO since I wanted to finish whatever credit's left in my member's card (if any)...but only to find a very dead Melaka Mall. At first I thought that the place really died off so much since GSC Dataran Pahlawan opened...but was later told by the mall staff that the mall is closed at the moment cuz....blackout. LOL! Apparently the 'flood' caused it. We didn't see any flood at the time but heck...its been hours since the morning storm.

So....its off to Pahlawan for us since QJ really wanted to watch GI Joe...got our tix then went Wok and Pan for dinner....Bumped into Yii, another one of QJ's 'Magic kaki' there and he laughed at the coincidence of us meeting there...and more so at the fact that we ended up there because of MBO's blackout.

Decided to have pork chop and Yeap belanja fish and chips to share amongst us (the fish so thin!). Was a really satisfying dinner but I had expected more of them...thanks to reviews I hear here and there. But for that price and the portion and right smack in town...it was good... Nadeje's just opposite but...enuff splurgies for today ;P ...At least now I know exactly where these 2 places are.

GI Joe was good...especially so since I wasn't expecting anything out of it (dah la din know storyline at all :P) ....the 'tech' was very impressive... (interactive holographic? wa...)....the usual dose of 'good guys chasing bad guys' scene was really good...better so that they didn't forget to pack in some chuckles :P (yeah no one reads manuals anymore these days...kekeke)

Ahh...was such good day :3

Sometimes I'm glad that when I look around...there are still friends of ours that don't forget us when there's something good to share...friends that are actually worth my time. And that makes me smile.

Talk (random)

Very random post. (yes you have been warned :P )

Talking...just 'lepak' around chatting about random things...any thing that would come to mind...doing nothing else but just chatting endlessly about various random topics...making silly jokes...giggling just to get a response out of the other person then laugh when he responses to your giggling at...nothing...laughing till your jaws and tummy goes so sore cuz sumthing one of you did was just too funny...shameless self-gloatings and teasings...decision of tmr's menu....

Sometimes..the best ways to spend a holiday doesn't necessarily require any extra $$ ... :3

The weekend spree~

Well at least for my sisters :D ...I kinda 'puasa-ed' and managed to escape temptation and not buy a thing :P ...My eldest sis kena paling parah, eventho it was my 2nd sis who came all the way down to KL to shop...hahaha. I did want to get a new bag but the one i saw kena kritik by my 2nd sis...and I didn't have time to go Why Pay More to check out the stuffs there...the stuff at R Studio is either too bloody expensive for no reason...or looks like shit...or both. Ah next month next month.

These 'shopping marathon' trips usually happen twice/year...where 3 of us girls would go jalan till our kaki sakit then we go for coffee or snacks..then continue shopping until we totally just rebah. One of the more memorable trips was the one 2 years ago during raya break ...stuffed ourselves silly with my sister's bekalan pasar ramadan in her fridge :P This time..I think we walked more that we ate (thankfully)...(celaka bro actually ask us how much weight we gained this trip...luckily we all not only didn't gain weight but prolly lost some...muahahaha) ...

Bumped into Loo Mun and Shindee on Sunday at MV...chatted for quite a bit before I had to run off to join my sisters...some other time when more free (and when my wallet not so kering) can lagi go lepak at Starbucks or sumthing..

Forgot to pack my 'chang' from my sister's freezer (again) ...isk...memang takde jodoh to makan the damn thing asyik asyik forget.

So yeah. Short weekend which felt so much longer than it was...endless walkings and sore feets and bumping into old friends - simple weekend, but a sweet one. Best part was to have a warm companion for the journey back ;3

391D broken into (yet again)

Most of you might have already known that my house in Melaka got broken into (again) during the hols. Didn't wanna blog bout it for fear Mum finds out about it but since she already did...so... /shrug ..so yeah. This is a very much delayed post.

Took all security precautions that we could have taken. Landlord even changed our back door to a more solid, reinforced one (with a latch on top where they can't reach in thru the damned window)...they managed to remove the back grill door's padlock...and since they can't open the latch of the wooden door from the window...they simply ram it until the latch gave way...resulting in a very badly damaged wooden door (they managed to broke the bottom part and cracked the middle part of it)....it puzzles me how the neighbour orphanage didn't hear the ruscus.

Our room doorknobs were easily picked....and the only doorknob which is safe enough (Razzman's)...they used my kitchen knife and hacked at his door near the lock....

Both QJ and my PCs were at home since it was a short sem and Navin was gonna be around for half of it (should have kept them at landlord's...I know)...bitches ransacked our cupboards drawers and everything...so after all the spring-cleaning I did before I left Malacca (so I don't have to do it when sem reopens), I had to do it all over again when I came back (which I only did this weekend). They didn't take our whole PC set...just QJ's 2 HDD (wtf rite?)...everything else, including the speaker+woofer and LCDs...

So far...all items stolen from the house are:

1. QJ's 2 HDD (they took the time to unscrew it from the PC ...swt)
2. QJ's Wii (they didn't take the infrared emitter sensorbar..doh) and Wii games
3. 2 of my bags...the larger ones (so I have to get a new bag now...koff koff alasan!)
4. QJ's wireless mouse USB receptor (not the mouse....zzzz)
5. My body shop 'Moonflower' perfume (for fcks sake its a lady's perfume!)
6. My almost new Pantene shampoo
7. QJ's facial wash
8. Hair dye I bought for QJ (its bloody dark dark brown...shud have bought black! if itu pun mau..diu la)
9. My hairdryer that my dad bought me :(
10. QJ's Smirnoff Vodca (left 1/3 ...should have replaced them with racun tikus)
11. Our Singapore MRT cards (which was in our passport...which were safe)
12. QJ's Nokia charger and my old spoiled Nokia handphones (thanks for helping me dispose them)
13. My old worn out wooden spatula =,=;;;;;;;!
14. Old notes and coin that were in my coin box
15. Our modem+wireless router

Things my housemates lost:

1. Navin lost a pair of shirt and pants...um...I think
2. Razzman's 1/2 bottle of 2L Ribena =,=

There's prolly more that we haven't realised...but w/e la....further precautions (definately sending all our PCs for safekeeping during weekends and hols that we're not around...call it paraoia) and changed the damned backdoor again (its as yellow as Courts Mammoth now)....its such a shame cuz I love this house very much...its awfully cozy and the landlords are awsome folks to boot. Ever so friendly and helpful...

The best part of all this....when the cops came over when we made a police report....My friend asked them "Encik, nak ambik fingerprint tak?"

Their reply was: "Tak boleh...terlalu berhabuk." (translation: "Cannot...its too dusty.")

Hail Malaysian policemen. Malaysia Boleh. It's no wonder all these criminals are so bold nowadays...even snatching handbags in broad daylight. The only times crimes like these are highlighted is when the cops themselves get assaulted or better still, tied and robbed in their own house.

Guitar Hero: World Tour

QJ saw GH:World Tour in Singapore and can't stop thinking bout it ever since. He went back last weekend and got himself his new 'toy'...box damn big but happy happy oso him drag the whole box back from the shop...lucky Razzman was going back that day so we got a lift back to Melaka...

Happy Quj

Guitar Hero: World Tour...the new set from the Guitar Hero series. Now finally we can multiplayer with the game...featuring loads more songs, downloadable songs and you can even play with your friends online (i think)...but given our infamous net connection in Malaysia...hmmm...forget it.

GH:WT comes with the original game, a brand new design of the guitar (feels so much better compared to the first one, drum set, and a microphone for karaoke-ing purpose.

Now we can play with full band set, guitar, bass, mic and drums.....

....only stupid thing is, each of those equipments (even the bloody wired USB mic) needs a Wii remote to control them. Stupid right? So yeah....391D is now open for donations for purpose of buying Wii-motes for better multiplayer experience (haha)

This is how the game looks like with full band. Hmmmmm....yerp we definatly need a new TV to see all the stuff better....lol!

Now...when's the next BBQ session at 391D? Anyone? :D

Singapore Day 3: Long walks and sore feets

(the author came back from Singapore...and went AWOL for a while due to many many distractions post-trip. This post was half written in Singapore and half written in PJ :P )

I walked so much I think I lost a bit of weight...haha....I wish la...we'll see when I balik nanti :P

What's certain tho...is that my feet is SOOOOOOO sore now...so is my back. Handbag like bag doraemon (i think it might just weight up to 5kg) carry macam macam...heavy sial...walk in circles and triangles and squares....gah penat la...but at least it was enjoyable.

Didn't buy anything today. Stupid Kino didn't have the manga QJ and I wanted so badly (mine was in stock but it wasn't on the shelf...plus the info counter guy say "Oh you have to come again and check with us next week..." ....u think I cycle to Singapore aa? so easy....cis! I've been waiting for 2 years for my book leh kanasai! Cis! QJ's book worse....not in stock langsung. Dammit la thought can just pick up from the shelf so I didn't bother with online booking this time... :< ..... meh. Should know better next time.

Started the day with lunch at Chinatown. Went Maxwell road and had lunch there. The tip on the travel guide said to judge good food at the length of the queue for the stall (most stalls, if not all, work on 'self service' basis....so you have to wait to get your own food...not like the hawkers in Malaysia with super memory....hee!)...so I went for one that made me queue for about 15 minutes...hahaha....but damn it was nice. Fish soup with rice. Mum and dad (and QJ's family too) would have loved it...see la got chance bring them here :P ...the soup it special...at least it was to me la....instead of clear fish soup, its a bit milky colored...ahh thinking of it kinda makes my mouth water now. :9~ ...hee. QJ saw me queue so long and gave up on the 'get food from longest queue' strategy so he ended up with herbal chicken soup with misua...which tasted really good too so he was happy...

After that we went jalan jalan a bit in Chinatown. It was less 'chinese' than I expected it to be (or maybe I just didn't really get to the really cina area) but it was okay I guess. Went to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple....for a temple it was really really REALLY beautiful. Got take some pic but its in my camera (and my card reader is in my room and I dun think this kapcai PC with Vista and 512MB RAM has any decent image processor in it so ...wait la). Oh did I mention the praying area is air-conditioned? No smokey smokey hot icky feeling. It was really really.....damn cantik. /sigh...

Exited the temple and walked around the pasar malam (that operated in morning :P ) there...lotsa tourisy stuff la...kinda like Jonker but somehow felt less special (I dunno...maybe cuz everything have to x2.4?)...but sumthing nice was probably most of the shops there have the jade stone chinese name stamp thing...which I really really like....no I didn't make one....I already have one. Bought it for myself 2 years ago or sumthing for my birthday :P ....oh that and there's a few of this 'wedding accessories' shop in Chinatown Point...find it kinda convenient if we had things like this in our place when my bro got married...actually SP got la but its a few and not as nice (and red..haha) as this one :P

Headed to Little India next...and I was surprised to see how Little India was more indian than Chinatown was chinese :P ...but it was nice. Kinda like to see all those fresh garlands and stuff....I noticed they have a lot of shops selling fresh vege...and I mean a lot...like 10-15 shops? So pelik... /shrug.... QJ showed me where they stayed last time he backpacked here with the guys (InnCrowd and Prince of Wales)...InnCrowd looks kinda cozy, but mmm The Hive is nice and I like it :D ...went Mustafa awhile (and bought myself a small bottle of hair shampoo...swt)...walked back again and decided to visit their version of Low Yat at Sim Lim Square. Its sooooo huge. QJ got so thrilled he found his Guitar Hero World Tour here....kept skipping around non stop about it after that...excited fella...if we didn't take a bus here I think he sure buy it ade wan.... (of dun think can hand carry in plane either tho...hmmm...) Its rather 'fascinating' to see the shops all selling ALL original games for once..haha....and I find that NDS Lite doesnt get much love here in Singapore :( ... /patpat my DS....ah well who cares!

Next stop was Orchard. Was kinda excited cuz was hoping to get a few stuff there but like I mentioned earlier we end up din find the things we wanted to get at all....was a bit disappointing but wat the heck la. Had a rather nice meal at this cute and cozy place at Wisma Atria...altho a bit expensive but we decided to splurge a bit ...since we only had pastry buns and 9" sausages from some EXPO exhibitors there (which were really good for SGD1 buns...)...I really like their menu (mmmeh pics later) and the ambiance is really cozy...well apart from the sight of renovation going outside la lol.

After early dinner, we headed straight to Kino...and left rather soon. Meh. No mood to see other stuff ade since our main purpose of going there is no longer valid. Left and wandered around Orchard for awhile before heading to Borders. Mannn the borders there kinda sucked. Small selection of books, and the same manga I saw in Kino earlier was 5 bucks more expensive in Borders..wat the-! End up going out to the other shops to just linger around (went to molest Ipods at their apple store...man they're SO sleek esp the new nano)...and went chill at the nearest cafe we could see cuz our feet were whining after 3 full days of walking non stop (I dunno bout QJ's first day of magic-ing but I walked non stop at EXPO... :P )...sucks that whenever you dun feel like having coffee, you see Starbucks and Coffee Beans freakin everywhere but when you just want one, they're nowhere to be found.... =.= ...so we ended u in Borders cafe....haha...it was decent but muu that they don't have fresh strawberries for my strawberry smoothie anymore...so they recommended something else (Caribbean or sumthing) which tasted really good! ....but mmmm wonder if their strawberry smoothie would taste better...was feeling very....gian strawberry smoothie that time :P ....one of these days...we'll see...hee. Anyways...we walked around a bit more and headed back to The Hive earlier that night...tired and all. Met Yii in the lounge and we went out have supper (since we had early dinner and Yii had none..hahaha!) ...didn't felt like eating so I jsut stole a bit of QJ's wantan noodles. Pretty good...but I've had better...but this is just a random foodcourt near our backpackers so...like that la. But its the one with the longest queue so...that's gotta mean sumthing...lol! (lucky not too long!)

Not really gonna open another entry for Day 4, since we spent only about 4 hours outside and then headed back to the backpackers to lepak and use their net while waiting for our (oh so much comfier) bus back to Melaka. Went Bishan to grab some stuff for QJ's friend. The mall there had really really lots of food chain for a mall that size...which is nice (Cuz I had my 2nd MOS here...nyahaha....)...QJ tried out playing some arcade games...Beatmania DX2 (or sumthing like that...my memory fails me x.x)...so much more difficult compared to the old machine in Jusco :P ....saw someone pwn ass in Street Fighter 4 machine. There's really huge difference between a guy who knows wat he's doing compared to a guy who's button mashing...kek. Its awesome how Singapore gets all these new machines and we only get those rotting ones...meh..ah well...I'm happy as long as I get my dose of Taiko no Tatsujin XD ...and oh oh! How can I forget? QJ found a hobby shop which sells my Saiyuki Reload manga! XD ...and I think it was the last copy too...yikes! Aaaa finally after 2 years I can read the continuation of the damn thing (still got 2 more un-translated volumes man gawddamit!)....wonder when I'll get to read Volumes 8 and 9. Might just give up and buy those expensive ones from Tokyopop in the end...meh.

Overall....Singapore is a nice place....if I don't have to keep reminding myself the cheap meals I get at their food court is actually x2.4 of the actual price. Still...their transportation system totally kicks ass and you'll get cultural shock when you get back and use our lame ass transportation system (6 freakin hours to get from our house to my sister's place in PJ wat the flying eff!) ...well that's all for now. Lazy to write more...

Singapore Day 2: EXPO

Spent most of the day at EXPO yesterday since QJ's MTG Grand Prix was there...I thought I'd be bored there and would need to go elsewhere to jalan jalan or shopping but luckily we checked out their website before he left for Singapore. There were sales there...LOL...lots of them too! It's like a mini mall in an exhibition centre...perfect.

There were 3 main sales that I was interested in....Adidas warehouse sale...Robinsons warehouse sale....and Popular's. Things in adidas was pretty cheap....well....if I was working and even better if I worked in Singapore earning SGD... :P ...but after conversion...most of the stuff still hurts my pockets ...keke...and I didn't need a new shoe anytime soon so yeah. Ended up going Robinsons and went @.@ ...there were a lot more things there than I expected. Makeup, shoes, handbag, shoes and even department store items...haha! QJ bought me an Esprit wallet there ....suka! X333 ...the handbags there were so tempting but....tutup mata and walked away...eek...didn't have the one I really wanted so I didn't wanna spend unnecessary money..hee... The Popular sales were ok I guess....wasn't really interested in carrying a heavy book all the way from Singapore back here I guess...

There was also another food expo so I went get food for the guys and quickly head back before they drop dead from hunger....which they were...almost...haha.

Left EXPO around 8...went had dinner in Lau Pa Sat...huge hawker area in Raffles...so many choices @.@ ...not sure if its the best place for hawkers but we enjoyed our meal.

Headed back after that for a good night's (badly needed) rest and now up for another full day ahead :D

Ciao~

Singapore Day 1: Of pork burgers and spanky rail lines and huge malls

QJ and I ate bacon burger (porky ones...not chicken ones like Carl's in M'sia) at Superdogs.....and it was superb. Dammit Malaysia should have decent pork burgers too...I'm sure Kelvin would agree with me.....

Spent most of Day 1 travelling from almost one end of the island to the next. Went Vivo City. Huge-ass shopping mall. The outlets here have nicer clothes than that of Malaysia's...but of course the price tags aren't nice at all :P....not when there's no sales during these period (got la some but not much)..I noticed that the girls here dress rather decently...I mean...you dun see much of 'ah lian-ness' here...or maybe it was just in Vivo la..who knows?

Food has been superb so far...eventho we've only been to fast food joints....MOS burger was......mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......Unagi rice burger :D ....ok it taste kinda like a bento but who cares? Unagi is teh sedaps! :9 ....might just go back there again before I leave...see la....

Went Bugis St pasar malam....a bit of a disappointment for both of us...guess we were too 'pampered' with our type of pasar malam back in Malaysia...cuz if they were like that...we'd be walking out of it with handful of snacks! (ah now that I mention snacks...I miss Chow Yang/SS2's popiah....oh dear...so sedap!)...The pasar malam here is so prim and proper...it's all in nicely allocated and lit shop lots...mmm...a bit tak biasa...ah well...thanks to that I suddenly remember about wanting MOS and we went hunting for it ... hee~

We went EXPO to pre-register for QJ's magic event....The Singapore Grand Prix.....we practically had to walk from one end of the expo to the other end of it cuz it was so bloody far...EXPO is freakin HUGE! Put it side by side with KLCC CC and you'd go O.o ....the fact that the place is loaded with fast food joints is definately a plus. Oh did I mention there's Adidas warehouse sale there? X3333 ...gonna check it out later. Popular and Robinsons has warehouse sales there too....ahhh...good thing I don't have to go anyway from EXPO to actually do some shopping :P

The public transport system here is....superb. Their train has 6 coaches while our Rapid KL (putraline ones that is) has like what...2? And they had to think so long to consider whether or not to add coaches summore....sheesh. The train line here branches off EVERYWHERE...its so efficient and convenient. Even their 'touch and go' (theirs is Ezi or sumthing) reader is much better than ours...its really just touch and go....not like most of ours where you mostly have to touch...wait...then go...ESPECIALLY monorail ones... (damn I hate those)...One thing about some of the escalator here...they're so freakin fast! It helps clear out the congestion I guess but I just can't imagine of someone were to press the 'Stop' button when the escalator loaded with ppl.... :P But seriously...its all those little things that makes the whole system move so much faster....aih..its just so nice.

I better get back to bed now (just remembered I'm holding QJ's card key so he can't get out! Eek!)...not sure if I can sleep anymore...slept so early yesterday...so damn burned out by the end of the day. Another long and packed day today...especially for QJ and Yii....wish them luck! :D

Piggy pau

Bought this for my niece when we went to a local dim sum restaurant. We were afraid she'd have sentiments for it and refuse to eat it...but she surprised us when she asked my aunt to tear it into 4 and share with everyone :P

Penang Hill (Part 2)

After laksa, we headed back to the lower station. After some enquiries, sis managed to get the offcers there to let us up earlier since the train wasn't full. Saved an hour+ there :D

The journey up was...not exactly very comfortable. It was quite crowded but that can't be helped I guess.

The view up there...was really nice. Kinda makes me relax. The cooling air makes me wanna stay there forever....mmmm free aircon!

Komtar!

Printed this pic out and put in on top of my shelf :P

The color on this flower is so intense...suka!

Sis on the decoration tram

After sunset...sis ajak us to go dinner at this fancy place, David Brown's. She's heard reviews that the place is really nice and pleasant....good food too. :D....not to mention expensive >.<

The inside looked really cozy...but the outdoor felt much nicer :D

Took this pic while waiting for our food. I'd love to come up here again during daytime. Would definately be more beautiful X3

View of Penang from where we had dinner

Our dinner that night. We only ordered 3 dishes and shared among ourselves so that we'd still have stomach space to go supper later (go till Penang must not miss out on the hawker food XD). The portion's quite large for single platter...the chips were especially good :P ..they stayed crispy even after we finished the main course. So yeah..this is what you missed out, bro :P

After dinner, we strolled a bit more then head down. Supper was at Macalister Road...so many choices we went @.@ . After that we head back to bro's, packed, and head back. Fifi was all too happy to see us, especially when she haven't had her meal for 1 1/2 days >.< .....
